Ty Jerome recalled from Oklahoma City Blue

Thunder guard Ty Jerome was relieved of his G-League assignment on Thursday, as first reported by Joe Mussatto of The Oklahoman.

With Hamidou Diallo listed out for the Thunder’s next two contests (right groin soreness,) it appears the organization have called upon Jerome to engross his bench role. Ty returns to the Thunder with expectations to make his team-debut — tending to a left ankle sprain prior to the Orlando bubble.

The 6-foot-5 guard impressed with the Oklahoma City Blue, averaging 12.1 points, 2.6 rebounds, 3.2 assists, and 1.1 steals across 9 games. The sophomore’s shot started jittery to begin the season, but has shown a significant amount of growth averaging 38.5% from beyond the arch in the past 3 games.

Jerome’s arrival to the main roster could signal his long-term stay with the team — however he may be recalled to conclude the Blue’s season upon Diallo’s recovery. In the meantime expect sharpshooter Rob Edwards to cut a slice into Jerome’s minutes with wings Jaylen Hoard and Melvin Frazier Jr. seeing a potential uptick in minutes.
