Current Roster Heading into Wednesday’s Game:
Point Guards: Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, George Hill, Frank Jackson
Shooting Guards: Luguentz Dort, Hamidou Diallo, Admiral Schofield
Small Forwards: Isaiah Roby, Justin Jackson, Kenrich Williams
Power Forwards: Darius Bazely, Aleksej Pokusevski T.J. Leaf,
Centers: Al Horford, Mike Muscala, Moses Brown
Key Matchup:
Lu Dort vs. Zach Lavine
For the both game previews this has been the key matchup of the game. Zach Lavine took Dort to school in Wednesday’s matchup scoring 16 points in the first quarter alone. Dort struggled not just defending Lavine, but scoring on him aswell, going 0-7 for the night and 0-4 from three. This will be an important potential bounce back game for Dort as you would like to see him enter the season on a high note.
Who To Watch:
Frank Jackson PG/SG:
Jackson played spectacular in his first two games, scoring 14 and 15 respectively from really everywhere. With Maledon out, his role has been expanded and it will be interesting to see if he folds or stays strong with the larger shoes to fill.
Backup Power Forwards:
With Muscala being the only solidified man in the front court, there is a void to be filled at the backup power forward spot, expect to see a lot of opportunities for T.J. Leaf and Justin Jackson.
